This Alarm Clock could save your sanity!

This alarm clock could save your sanity!

If you are like me you have people in your home who have a hard time getting up in the morning. We have several alarm clocks in my bedroom so my husband can wake up. I saw this and think it is such a great idea!

Paris-based Sensorwake created a new alarm clock called the “Trio” that eases you into waking up by slowly stimulating your sense of smell, sight, and hearing. This three-minute three-step process gradually wakes you up on the right side of the bed to invigorate you for the start of your day.

Here’s how it works: The Sensorwake Trio’s first minute entices your sense of smell with nine different types of scents, such as pine forest, rose garden, seaside, chocolate factory, orange juice, cappuccino, and much more. Just select a special scent cartridge based on your mood, which Swiss fragrance company Givaudan developed and designed, and insert it into the alarm clock to activate. All cartridges are good for 30 days before they need to be replaced.

During the second minute, the alarm clock, which is made from plastic, wood, and aluminum and weighs about one pound, attracts your sense of sight with a soothing light. Afterwards, the third and final step, plays one of five different pleasant melodies that makes you feel like you’re waking up in a Paul Thomas Anderson movie, or a Greta Gerwig-directed comedy starring Saoirse Ronan, to begin your day. If you’re not ready to wake up just yet, the sense-based alarm clock features a snooze button that will repeat the process again 10 minutes later.

In addition, Google selected the first-generation of the Sensorwake Alarm Clock as one of the top 15 inventions that could change the world at the Google Science Fair in 2014. Since then, the company, created by Frenchman Guillaume Rolland when he was only 17 years old, rapidly grew and saw success from their first Kickstarter campaign the following year, so Sensorwake decided to use the crowdfunding platform again for the second-generation alarm clock in 2018.

Although the campaign surpassed their $30,000 goal, you can still support it for as little as $1. Just remember, the product is still a prototype until it’s in the hands of consumers. The Sensorwake Trio’s Kickstarter campaign features early bird specials starting at $59 for the clock with two scent cartridges of your choice. Shipping begins in November 2018.
